Andrew Jones

After completing three years at the Victorian College of the Arts, Andrew has worked in both professional musical theatre and opera. Productions include A Portrait of Love (Leonardo Productions), The Merry Widow (Essgee Productions), Le Nozze di Figaro (Eastern Metropolitan Opera), The Barber of Seville and The Sound Garden (Opera Australia’s School’s Company), Lohengrin, Sweeney Todd, Der Rosenkavalier, Tosca, La Cenerentola, (All with Opera Australia) and The Empresario (EmotionWorks). Andrew has performed the role of Figaro in CoOpera’s touring production of The Marriage of Figaro, Schaunard in Oz Opera’s touring production of La Boheme, Morales/Dancairo in OzOpera’s Carmen, Bill Bobstay in Opera Australia’s H.M.S. Pinafore as well as Foreman of the Jury in Trial By Jury and Enrico in Bel Canto Opera’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Andrew made his debut with Melbourne Opera last year in their production of The Barber of Seville, singing the title role. He has also appeared as a soloist in many recitals and has been a featured artist with Orchestra Victoria, in the Melbourne Chorale’s production of Faure’s Requiem, and Camberwell Grammar’s production of Carmina Burana.
