Aydin Ustuk

Background: Born, Turkey. Studied: After graduating from Izmir 9 Eylut University, Aydin Ustuk began working at Izmir State Opera and Ballet in the chorus before being promoted to soloist. He then won a scholarship to Italy to continue his studies. After graduating with honours from Accademie d’Arte Liricae Corale, he worked with Antonio Tonini, the tutor of great opera singers like Callas, Pavarotti, and Domingo. He continued his studies in stage and vocalisation, and gave concerts with Carlo Cussutta, Mario Melani, Tuclio Giagcioni, and Vera Bertinetti. Following his concert successes he performed with Ghena Dimitrova in Milan in 1997, accelerating his international career. At present he is a scholar at Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatory and continues his vocal studies with Sabahat Tekebas.


Roles: Aydin has performed the leading tenor roles in The Magic Flute, Die Entfuhrung, Il Turco in Italia, Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, Un Ballo in Maschera, Don Carlos, La Traviata, Carmen, La Boheme, Werther, Cavalleria Rusticana, L’Elisir d’Amore, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Don Carlo, Faust, Madama Butterfly, Eugene Onegin, Macbeth, and Tosca, in Turkey, France, Romania, Spain, Austria, and Italy. Rigoletto is his debut with Melbourne Opera.
