Claire Lyon

Claire is an Australian actress, singer and recording artist. Claire commenced her professional career with a full-time contract with Opera Australia. She performed numerous roles at the Sydney Opera House and State Theatre, Melbourne including Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, Ida in Die Fledermaus as well as understudying the roles of Olga in The Merry Widow, and Anne Egermann and Mrs Nordstrom in Sondheim's A Little Night Music. In 2008, Claire was a part of the Australian national tour of My Fair Lady.


Claire starred as Christine DaaƩ in the World Tour of The Phantom of the Opera, originating the role in several countries. She is also one of few actresses in the world to have been involved in both The Phantom of the Opera and its sequel, Love Never Dies, in which she understudied and performed the same role of Christine in the Australian national tour from 2011 to 2012. For The Production Company, Claire has performed alongside Australia's favourite leading ladies in Jerry's Girls and starred as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance (Green Room nomination).


In 2015 she performed the role of Hope Harcourt (Helpmann nomination) in John Frost & Opera Australia's national tour of Anything Goes and sang the Australian National Anthem at the State of Origin at the MCG. Last year Claire performed alongside Josh Groban as his guest soprano for his Australian and New Zealand A Very Special Evening with Josh Groban Tour, having previously accompanied him during his Stages Australian promotional tour. More recently Claire has performed in concert with Michael Cormick at The Arts Centre, Melbourne and with David Hobson at the Sydney Town Hall. Claire's debut solo album On Stage - features some of her favourite Broadway hits including songs from 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Love Never Dies', 'My Fair Lady' and more!
