Adrian McEniery originally trained, and has enjoyed an extensive operatic and concert career, as a tenor.
For Melbourne Opera he has previously appeared as Cavaradossi in Tosca.
He is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Of Music, was a member of the Victoria State Opera's Young Artist Program and for that company, appeared in the title role of Faust and as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni.
He has been a regular principal artist for Opera Australia where his roles included Edmondo in Manon Lescaut, Pang in Turandot, Andres in Berg's Wozzeck, the Major Domo in Der Rosenkavalier and Gregor in The Makropulos Case.
For WA Opera he has appeared in the suite of tenor roles of Nathanial, Andreas, Cochenille, Franz and Pitichinaccio, for Opera Queensland as Goro in Madam Butterfly, as The Beadle in Sweeney Todd and in the title role of Mozart's Lucio Silla, and, for Oz Opera, The Duke and Borsa in Rigoletto and Tom Rakewell in The Rake's Progress.
For Victorian Opera has has appeared as The First Soldier in The Coronation Of Poppea and Der Tanzmeister in Ariadne Auf Naxos.
During 2013 he sang Delfa in Cavalli’s Giasone for Pinchgut Opera.
Concert engagements include Britten's Serenade For Tenor, Horn & Strings with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Messiah, with The Queensland, Sydney and Adelaide symphony orchestras, The Evangelist in St. John Passion with the Sydney Philharmonia Choir, Ned Rorem's Evidence Of Things Not Seen in the 2004 Melbourne International Arts Festival and most recently, during 2014, Dvorak’s Requiem for Monash University. He has given concerts in St. James’s Piccadilly and St. Martin In The Fields in London.
