Felicity Baldock

South Australian born Felicity Baldock has a wide range of experience both on the operatic stage and concert platform and also as a sought after teacher and examiner and adjudicator. Graduating with a high distinction from the South Australian College of Advanced Education she then went on to study in Italy, Germany and with Daniel Ferro in New York as the recipient of the South Australian Government Vocal Scholarship.

On her return to Australia Felicity commenced a Young Artist Programme with the State Opera of South Australia subsequently performing such roles as The Page - RIGOLETTO, Barbarina - LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Elvira – L’ITALIANA IN ALGERI, Pousette – MANON, and Frasquita – CARMEN. Other operatic roles include the title role in “The Merry Widow”, Gianetta in “The Gondoliers”, Phyllis in “Iolanthe” 2nd Lady - DIE ZAUBERFLOTE, Rose – LAKME, Mabel –PIRATES OF PENSANCE, Adina – L’ELISIR D’AMORE for Victoria State Opera and The Maid in the Australian Premiere of Thomas Ades’ POWDER HER FACE for the Brisbane Festival. Felicity made her debut with Melbourne Opera Company in the role of Violetta in LA TRAVIATA , in 2003. She has since performed the role of First Lady in DIE ZAUBERFLOTE, Despina in COSI FAN TUTTE, Annina in LA TRAVIATA (for Grand Opera and MO), Elvira in DON GIOVANNI and concert performances of Micaela in CARMEN, Yum Yum in the MIKADO , Elvira in L’ITALIANA IN ALGERI and Enrichetta in I PURITANI .

Solo concert repertoire includes Bach; Magnificat, St Matthew and St John Passions and the Peasant Cantata (ABC Adelaide), Brahm’s Requiem , Handel; Messiah,Coronation Anthem , Saul , Israel in Egypt , Haydn; The Creation, The Seasons, Harmonie Messe, Nelson Mass, Mozart; Kronungsmesse, Requiem, Exultate Jubilate, Mendelssohn; Elijah, Symphony No. 2, Faure; Requiem, Beethoven; Mass in C, Vaughan Williams;Dona Nobis Pacem, Vivaldi; Gloria, Elgar; For the Fallen and To Women, Poulanc; Gloria , Rossini; Stabat Mater, Stravinsky; Les Noces (Melbourne Chorale), Mass, Kodaly; Te deum.

Felicity and Sally Anne Russell performed in a concert series at St John’s Malvern in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
