Continuing his run of dream roles, Graeme is excited to sing Colline and the short but poignant Coat aria.
Originally from Adelaide, Graeme has performed with Opera Australia, State Opera of South Australia, the Victoria State Opera and Victorian Opera.
For Melbourne Opera he has sung Dancairo in Carmen and Don Basilio in The Barber of Seville (both 2007). In 2007 he also had a ball understudying Mustafa in The Italian Girl in Algiers as well as serving as assistant to director Hugh Halliday for Italian Girl, Cavalleria Rusticana and Suor Angelica.
Graeme was a member of the original Australian cast of The Phantom of the Opera followed by the original cast of The Secret Garden, both under the baton of the legendary Brian Stacey. He has also been seen in Crazy for You (Moose, the double bass-playing hick), Chamber Made Opera’s Transfigured Night (Doctor Forbes Will See You Now) (Terry Smythe-Higgins) and My Fair Lady. For the Production Company Graeme has appeared in The Music Man (Olin Britt in the barbershop quartet) and Camelot (Sir Sagramore). Recently he participated in a workshop production of Nostradamus a new Australian musical under the direction of Roger Hodgeman.
Major career highlights have been performing in the world premiere production of Richard Mills and Peter Goldsworthy’s Batavia and understudying The One-Armed Brother in Richard Strauss’ Die Frau ohne Schatten for the 1996 Melbourne Festival conducted by Simone Young
