Kathryn Turner

Born: Shepparton. Studies: Bachelor of Education (Music and Drama), voice major at the University of Melbourne. Kathryn has studied Opera at The Victorian College of the Arts and attended the 2005 Ronald Dowd National Summer School for Singers ’Mastercourse in Opera’ in Sydney with music director, Victor Morris.
Awards: Aggregate Award (Royal South Street Ballarat 2003). Kathryn has won a number of first, second and third prizes and awards at Ringwood, Ballarat, Bendigo, Diamond Valley, Warrnambool, Boroondara, Geelong and Mordialloc.

Roles: Kathryn has performed the leading soprano roles in most of the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Other major roles include Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, the Widow in The Merry Widow, Nymph in The Fairy Queen, Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly, Cosette in Les Miserables, Tzeital in Fiddler on the Roof, and Eliza in My Fair Lady. Kathryn appeared in the chorus in Melbourne Opera’s production of Don Giovanni.
