Zohie’s fascination with the innate narrative potential of textiles and the ways in which we represent ourselves and shape our public and personal spaces led to a degree in Production majoring in Design, at The Victorian College of the Arts.
Zohie’s distinctive, evocative sensibility lead to her working as both Production and Costume Designer for internationally acclaimed director Amiel Courtin-Wilson’s feature film HAIL. HAIL received a rapturous critical reception after its premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival 2011 and went on to internationally premiere at the Venice Film Festival this September. Zohie was also production designer for director Mirrah Foulkes and cinematographer Adam Arkapaw (ANIMAL KINGDOM) on the short DUMPY GOES TO THE BIG SMOKE (currently in post-production), as well as internationally acclaimed director David Michod’s (ANIMAL KINGDOM) music clip for Australian band Children Collide.
Most recently she designed the costumes for the Melbourne Opera Company’s production of THE MERRY WIDOW by resident director Hugh Halliday- again to great critical acclaim.
