Emily Burke grew up in Tasmania and is one of the three winners of ABC TV’s Operatunity Oz. She is a graduate of the Victorian College Of The Arts and has studied at the Conservatorium Of Music in Milan where she studied language and singing. As part of her winnings from Operatunity Oz, Emily has appeared as Gilda in a performance of Opera Australia’s production of Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Sydney Opera House and since, she has been in great demand as a soloist for all kinds of concerts including Carols By The Bay in Hobart, Christmas concerts for the Adelaide Festival Centre, and has given her own solo concert as part of Federation Square’s Melbourne Christmas series of events. She has appeared as guest soloist with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Society in concert in St. Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne and has been invited to take part in various corporate events for Opera Australia and in the company’s 50th Birthday Celebration performances. While in Italy, she gave concerts with the Milan Conservatorium Chorale and the International School in Varese.
