Melodee Faulkner

Melodee completed a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts after being accepted at age 17. She has performed extensively around Melbourne with Melbourne Opera, Lyric Opera of Melbourne, Eastern Metropolitan Opera, The Opera Factory, Opera Australia, the Gilbert & Sullivan Society and in the International cast of Show Boat with Marina Prior as the Balcony Soloist. Her roles include Frasquita (understudy) (Carmen -Melbourne Opera Company), Filipevna (Eugene Onegin - Opera Factory), Celia (Iolanthe - Gilbert & Sullivan Society), Balcony Soloist (Showboat - Stageright Productions), and A Young Woman (The Saint of Bleaker Street- Lyric Opera of Melbourne). She has studied the roles of Butterfly, Nedda, Mimi, Belinda, Zerlina, Pamina, Marguerite, Micaela, Susanna and Lucia. Melodee was a soprano soloist in the Independent Classics concert series 2002-3 and is winner of the Mildura Aria and several competitions including as semi-finalist in the Herald-Sun Aria. She is the winner of the June Bronhill scholarship and currently holds a Monash Graduate Scholarship for a ongoing Phd in Psychology. Her seven year old son Felix Gwizdek-Faulkner sings with Melbourne Opera Company in the children’s chorus.
