Rebecca Rashleigh

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rebecca studied her Bachelor of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts and Music, (2009).


Rebecca has performed such roles as: Micaela: Carmen (2014), Wendy: Contact!: A Netball Drama (2011 &2012), Frasquita: Carmen (2009), Belinda: Dido and Aeneas (2009) Papagena: Die Zauberflöte (2008) and Suor Genovieffa: Suor Angelica (2007).


She has also performed with Opera Australia in their productions of: The Mikado (2011) and their Tokyo tour of Don Pasquale (2013). Rebecca worked as a Young Artist with the Lyric Opera of Melbourne, performing the role of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (2015) and understudying the roles of Laurie in The Tender Land (2014) and Sophie in Werther (2014). Rebecca has also won the Boroondara Eisteddfod Aria (2014) and West Gippsland Drama and Music Eisteddfod Aria (2014). She received 3rd prize in the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir's Singer of the Year (2014) and received The More Than Opera Development Grant in The German Australian Opera Grant (2014). Last year, Rebecca was rewarded Opera Scholar's Australia's Opera Scholar of the Year and was a part of Opera Australia's Victorian Schools production of Hansel and Gretel playing the role of Gretel. Now having come back from The Australian International Opera Company's China Tour of La Traviata, covering the role of Violetta, she is excited to make her debut with Melbourne Opera in their Monash performance of The Abduction from the Seraglio playing the role of Blonde.
