Melbourne Opera continues its acclaimed Ring cycle with Die Walküre, led by the distinguished Wagner specialist Maestro Anthony Negus. Warwick Fyfe stars as Wotan with Zara Barrett as Brunnhilde, Lee Abrahmsen as Sieglinde, Bradley Daley as Siegmund and Sarah Sweeting as Fricka, leading an all Australian cast.
Following the triumph of Das Rheingold, Suzanne Chaundy’s massive new production moves to Her Majestys Theatre with Andrew Bailey’s magnificent set and the acclaimed 90 piece Melbourne Opera Orchestra in the pit.
Die Walküre features some of Wagner’s most popular and moving passages, including The Ride of the Valkyries, Wotan’s Farewell and the wonderful Act 1 love duet.
